Obsidian-class
Obsidian is Zet's construction and environmental manipulation drone model, designed for advanced interaction with physical infrastructure. It is one of 48 specialized drone models created after the drive chase failure in IWUKE Chapter 26, with 100 units produced at a Cities of Perind facility.
Design
Obsidian features a powerful electromagnet mounted on a manipulator arm, along with a suite of advanced tools for building modification and object manipulation. Its design is optimized for applying maximum kinetic force — it uses retreat maneuvers specifically to generate momentum for the electromagnet. Tactical applications include door and barrier removal, object retrieval, and infrastructure modification.
Chapter 27 Deployment
During the Jake Fynt family extraction, an Obsidian unit used its electromagnet to rip a jammed car door off, demonstrating the model's ability to apply extreme kinetic force rapidly in field conditions.
Battle of Izon (Chapter 36)
Approximately 1,000 Obsidian-class drones participated in the defense of Izon alongside roughly 77,826 Blight-class units.
