| Pronouns | he/him |
| Species | Human |
| Affiliation | Royal Research Guild |
| Role / occupation | High Commander |
Miran Keldt is the High Commander of the Royal Research Guild in 7354, one rank below Styvin Fring-Warpine. He briefed the research team for the SYMMETRY intercept mission and escorted Tomas Lithe to the launch site, denying Tomas's request to see his partner Alex Prane before departure. Efficient and professional, Miran serves the Emperor's will without cruelty.
Physical Appearance
Miran received no formal announcement when entering the palace roundtable — in contrast to Styvin's grand introduction — and carries himself with noticeably less grandeur than his superior. Age and Eternium usage are not established.
Personality
Miran is efficient and professional: he explains mission details clearly, coordinates logistics, and expects questions from the research team without demanding them. When denying Tomas's request to see Alex before launch, he shows apologetic understanding while remaining firm — the decision is final and he does not treat Tomas cruelly. He is observant, noting when no one initially follows him from the briefing room and acknowledging Tomas's apparent eagerness when Tomas jumps up. He prefers to handle difficult conversations in relative privacy, inviting Tomas to walk separately rather than addressing the matter in front of the group.
Background
Not yet established beyond his role in the 7354 SYMMETRY intercept mission.
Relationships
- Styvin Fring-Warpine — Miran's superior (one rank above); Miran reports to Styvin and carries out his directives.
- Rovin Warpine — Emperor; Miran serves his will; Rovin personally requested the immediate mission launch.
- Tomas Lithe — physicist conscripted for the SYMMETRY intercept mission; Miran briefed him, denied his request to see Alex, and escorted him to the spaceport. Not cruel to Tomas, but ultimately firm.
Story Arc
Year 7354 — SYMMETRY Intercept Mission
Palace roundtable briefing: After Styvin Fring-Warpine addressed the assembled scientists and froze a young scientist who attempted to withdraw, Miran took Styvin's place at the roundtable. He explained that the government had known about SYMMETRY for some time, that it was a controlled object which had adjusted course to perform a gravity slingshot past Lukyr toward Lukyr Prime, and that the mission was to intercept it. The room fell silent after his briefing. He expected questions but received none, then asked the team to follow him.
Private train conversation: When Tomas was the only one to move promptly, Miran invited him to walk separately and spoke with him on the train. Miran disclosed that the Emperor had personally requested an immediate launch — barely thirty minutes away — and that Tomas would not get to see Alex Prane beforehand. When Tomas protested, expecting at minimum some training or team-building time, Miran firmly but apologetically closed the matter, assuring him that every step necessary for the mission's success had been or would be taken before launch. He then brought Tomas to the regional spaceport for a rushed equipment introduction before boarding.
