Compound 919

Compound 919 is a lethal interrogation drug used by Kaiser and INI-3 to extract information from subjects during Operation CASCADIA. The compound forces the victim to re-experience every moment of their waking life in overwhelming detail simultaneously, allowing interrogators to extract specific memories through electric shock discipline while the subject is unable to resist.

Mechanism

Compound 919 is administered via medical injector directly into the side of the subject's head. The injection produces a brief stabbing pain before giving way to an intoxicating sensation as the drug takes hold.

In the initial phase, the subject begins involuntarily re-experiencing every moment of their waking life simultaneously and in painstaking detail. Individual memories lose their distinctness, merging into an undifferentiated sensory mass. The subject loses the ability to focus or direct their attention voluntarily.

Interrogators exploit this vulnerability through electric shock. Each shock forces the subject back to focus, and the interrogator can direct attention toward specific memories or conversations of interest. The process continues until the desired information is extracted.

The drug's effects are fatal over hours of sustained exposure. As the session progresses, the subject's sense of self dissolves — they become a passive observer of the unfolding memory cascade rather than an active participant. Muscle control and physical sensation eventually fail entirely. Death follows, with autopsy-visible signs including eyes left completely white and fixed with an expression of terror.

Known Use

Operation CASCADIA — Subject JERBOA (Jace Windes):

On September 25th, 8044, Kaiser commenced questioning at 13:00. Jace acknowledged gaps in his own memory during initial questioning, prompting Kaiser to approve the introduction of Compound 919. A lethal dosage was administered at 13:10. By 13:15, Kaiser's report recorded the information as satisfactory and questioning concluded. Jace died of the drug's effects at 13:45.

The interrogation successfully reconstructed the complete conversation between Jace and Zet from their first encounter. It also surfaced a suppressed memory: an encounter with Evitr in which Jace had been commanded to forget — a command he had been unable to comply with despite the instruction.

Lethality

File 993 - Operation CASCADIA documents that Kaiser procured a lethal dosage before the session, indicating the compound's fatal nature was known in advance and accepted as part of the interrogation protocol. The interrogator returned hours after questioning concluded to find Jace's body still warm, confirming death occurred during or shortly after the session.

Delivery

Compound 919 is administered via medical injector — similar in appearance to a standard vaccine shot — directly into the side of the subject's head. In IWUKE Chapter 34, the substance is referred to only as an unidentified substance; the official designation Compound 919 appears in File 993.
