'Eldon Wynter' - the accused pledges support for Zet!

Lukyr Prime's former Minister of Heritage, the man previously known as Frederick Korough, accused of treason and terrorism by Steward Zet, has issued a statement, sent out to all news agencies Empire-wide.

"If I were shown this amount of evidence, I, too, would have concluded what it did." - Such are the opening words of Wynter's plea to be heard.
They appeared in a single-page statement sent to all registered news agencies in the Empire. In it, Wynter acknowledges the accusations brought forth by Zet, which were supported by an archive of files. The files, first seen by the public alongside Zet's assumption of government control in September of this year, were allegedly recovered from an orbital station Wynter owned.

Now, he rejects any connection to them entirely. The statement, which began with an introduction of his person, named him as 58-year-old 'Eldon Wynter', a Prime-native and son to the now-deceased Malcolm and Julia Wynter.
"I hope disclosure of my identity will help establish my goodwill," Wynter writes, before going on to summarily reject the accusations levied against him:

"If I were shown this amount of evidence, I, too, would have concluded what it did. However, I am afraid both Zet and I have misunderstood the situation entirely. Allow me time to investigate and find out the truth, and I promise to clear my name."
In subsequent paragraphs, Wynter reinforces the statement's role as an open letter to Zet:

"Zet, I understand the position you are in, but please trust that I believe in what you are doing. I will support your new government with all that I am - if you let me."

Attached with the statement is an evidence package - described by Wynter as 'initial findings'. Containing well over ten thousand individual files, the package has yet to be thoroughly investigated - but early expert opinions state that Wynter is provably cleared from the kidnapping of Adrian Visutro and the murder of ReStar psychologist Dr. Acy Trepa. Both of these were pillars of Zet's accusations.

As of writing this, at 17:15 on November 12th, Zet has yet to comment on these developments. We will update this article, should that change.
