Kriss was a civilian with a crushed leg who was trapped in a train station building under siege by House Shtor assassination drones during the Chapter 40 civil war fighting around the Government District. He died heroically in the building collapse, forcing his partner to escape with a young girl in his care.

Story Arc
Chapter 40 — Siege and Sacrifice
Kriss was sheltering in the building alongside his partner (a younger man), a young girl of around ten years old, and Tayra Wylk-Warpine. His injured leg rendered him largely immobile while Tayra defended the entrance.
When Zet arrived and organised an extraction, House Shtor drones above the building succeeded in collapsing the ceiling before everyone could escape. Kriss refused to let his partner drag him out, instead ordering his partner to take the girl and go. The younger man, the girl, and Tayra escaped; Kriss died in the collapse. His partner and the girl are later named Bron and Angela when they appear as Leti Cassaneo's hostages at Telon in Chapter 43.
His death is cited as an example of civilian casualties caused by the inter-house conflict.
