Gamma Eona Primus is the inhabited world at the heart of the Gamma Eona system and the homeworld of the alien Aeonites. It is the focus of the Empire's secret frontier war and, by 8044, the target of King Covian Warpine's Frontier Recovery Mission. It was never a Lukyrian colony, despite official Imperial accounts claiming otherwise.
Overview
Gamma Eona Primus is an alien homeworld — the seat of the Aeonite civilisation, not a human settlement. Imperial propaganda, however, presents a fabricated history to conceal the existence of the aliens: the official record (see The Complete History of the Frontier Worlds - 8012 Edition) claims the planet was settled by Lukyrian colonists in 7728 under King Lorin 'the Scorcher', that vast underground kyrant deposits were discovered there in 7748, and that the world was a robot-run mining colony until its settlers revolted in 7913. None of this is true. Genuine Lukyrian frontier colonization did begin in 7728, but at other worlds — Gamma Eona Primus is not one of them.
The Aeonites themselves wield kyrants as weapons (per the confidential Frontier Strategic Report (8041)), but the planet's purported Lukyrian mining history is part of the cover story rather than established fact.
Condition in 8044
When the Frontier Recovery Mission arrived (~17 November 8044), Gamma Eona Primus was found to be vibrant and beautiful — home to thousands of cities, though far less densely populated than the ecumenopoli of the Lukyr Empire. It showed little sign of the roughly century-long war-driven occupation the official account would imply — one of several details that do not fit the colonial cover story.
The space around the planet, however, held no occupation base, no military fleet, no blockade nodes, and none of the usual civilian systems such as positioning or network infrastructure. Instead it was filled with the wreckage of tens of thousands of Lukyrian warships — a cloud of micro-debris dense enough to fog the view of the planet. Every wreck was Lukyrian; not a single enemy ship was present.
On reaching this scene, Covian abandoned his original plan of a decisive military victory and resolved to destroy the planet entirely, an operation his engineers had been secretly preparing.

- By what means does Covian intend to destroy the planet, and is the attempt carried out?
- Where do the Aeonites who inhabit it actually live and fight from, given the absence of orbital defences?
- Byran Kale tried to divert a ship to the Gamma Eona system in 7354; what did he know of it, given it is the Aeonites' homeworld and never a Lukyrian colony?
- Does the planet actually hold the kyrant deposits the propaganda describes, or is that pure fabrication?
