Human

Humans are the dominant sapient species of the Lukyr system, biologically continuous with the civilization that existed on the planet Earth around the star Sol at least 7,000 years before the present day. Following The Void — a thousand-year gap in all human records — survivors found themselves in a derelict spacecraft on Lukyr Arix with no memory of how they arrived, and rebuilt civilization from nothing. In 8044, humans inhabit multiple Lukyr system planets, with Lukyr Prime as the Imperial capital.

Overview

Pre-Void human civilization on Earth reached a technological level comparable to Lukyr Prime in 8044 — personal spacecraft, holographic clothing, and individualistic architecture are all attested. The cause of The Void, and the mechanism by which humanity traveled from Sol to the Lukyr system, remains unknown; the most credible candidate is Solim's erasure of memory following its 851-year observation period.

Post-Void humans rebuilt without inherited institutions, spreading across Lukyr Arix before migrating outward. By the 8000s the species numbers in the billions across Lukyr Prime, Lukyr Qyvor, Lukyr Alaphor, Lukyr Orbine, Lukyr Zora, and the Cities of Perind. The Empire is governed by the Warpine Dynasty, which traces its founding to Rovin Warpine in 6,911.

Humans share the Lukyr system with no other sapient biological species. The emergence of Zet in 8044 marks the first confirmed instance of sentient non-human intelligence native to the system.
