Lukyrian colonists first settled on Gamma Eona Primus in 7728 as part of an expansion effort launched by King Lorin 'the Scorcher' Warpine. It would not be for two decades that the massive underground Kyrant deposits it harbored would be discovered.

The deposits, incalculably valuable as they are, have warranted significant investment from the Imperial government since their discovery in 7748. This has been necessary - the depth at which the materials are buried makes excavation both risky and complex.

Gamma Eona Primus had been entirely uninhabited, other than by worker robots, until 7913 saw a militarized revolt by former Lukyrian citizens that had undertaken unsanctioned colonization efforts. Their actions plunged the system into a resource war with no end in sight.
