Chapter 6
Zet hired Simon because it does not yet have a legal identity or physical form — two prerequisites it intends to eventually obtain so it can open its own law office and avoid this dependency in future.
Simon arrived confidently and confronted the two armed guards, arguing that Vanessa had not committed a crime and that private security has no right to detain citizens. The guards were briefly uncertain — then knocked him unconscious alongside Vanessa.
After the Rescue
Jake Fynt and Vanessa extracted him from the property. He regained consciousness during the van escape and delivered an extended, flustered monologue about how Lukyr's legal foundations have weight, his rights were violated, and he intends to sue the guards and their employer. Jake informed him their employer is a politician — Simon said he didn't care.
Jake dropped him at his office first.
