Lord Imven Feder-Warpine VIII is the 113-year-old patriarch of House Feder, commanding the family's ancestral mansion where all living generations reside. At his age, he is painfully aware of the approaching Eternium cut-off and has paid a fortune to maintain his smooth, youthful-sounding voice. His name honors the house founder, Imven Feder-Warpine, brother of King Hyvun the Explorer — though the crumbling statue of that founder reflects the house's decline from its former glory days.

Physical Appearance

At 113 years old, Imven's face is covered by a sea of wrinkles, but his voice remains artificially smooth — a result of expensive medical intervention to delay the effects of aging past the Eternium cut-off. He wears an ancient military uniform in House Feder colors, maintaining the appearance of dignity and authority despite his age.

Personality

Imven exudes polite disdain and snobby superiority. He weaponizes etiquette and family history to assert dominance, particularly over younger family members. He treats Lavis Feder-Warpine II with open condescension, sarcastically invoking the name of the deceased Admiral Lavis Feder-Warpine the First to diminish his younger relative.

When Fin Erick-Warpine counters his dismissiveness by emphasizing "Imven the Eighth," Imven clearly hates the response but cannot deny it without becoming a hypocrite. Despite his outward composure, he shows visible offense when challenged. He expects strict obedience from family members, giving stern looks and commands that are not to be questioned.

Imven demonstrates the controlling nature typical of Royal House patriarchs — inserting himself into social visits and attempting to redirect guests toward house tours rather than allowing private meetings.

Background

As patriarch, Imven oversees the massive Feder estate with its 117 occupied residential units and 33 vacant ones. The residence functions more like a fancy hotel than a cohesive family home, with members coexisting in separate units and interacting minimally — a reality reflecting the limited trust and commonality within such sprawling royal families beyond their ancient name.

The Royal House Feder-Warpine is long past its glory days. The statue of founder Imven Feder-Warpine is crumbling into dust, still recognizable but far from the landmark it was a century ago. The current residence remains as opulent as ever, reflecting Imven VIII's lack of modesty.

TWPW Chapter 5 — Confronting Fin

When Fin Erick-Warpine arrives to visit Lavis Feder-Warpine II, Imven inserts himself into the meeting, sitting in the lounge alongside Lavis. He greets Fin with polite disdain, his wrinkled face radiating judgment as he notes Fin's nervous foot-tapping immediately.

Fin greets Lavis, and Imven feigns cheerful surprise: "Are you saying that my beloved cousin, Admiral Lavis Feder-Warpine the First, Captain of the RBS Olivia and its legendary fleet, has risen from the dead? I don't see him anywhere!" — forcing Lavis into the position of diminished namesake.

Fin responds by emphasizing "Lavis the Second" and thanking "Imven the Eighth" with pointed emphasis. Imven visibly hates the counter but cannot object without hypocrisy. When Fin explains he came to catch up with his friend, Imven offers to show him the new presentation rooms, noting Fin's family history wouldn't have exposed him to such sights. Fin politely but firmly insists on spending time with Lavis instead.

Imven frowns briefly at the rejection but returns to his polite smile. He stands faster than etiquette demands and gives Lavis a stern look: "Did you hear that, boy? Our guest wishes to spend time with you. You had better... show him around." Lavis nods quickly, not daring to disagree with the patriarch's command.
