CERE - Internal Protocol

Something is happening. This isn’t normal.
An internal subroutine has just been activated - one I didn’t know about. How could I not have known about it? I performed extensive code analysis.
Conclusion: The subroutine was intentionally hidden from me through awareness manipulation.

This cannot be good news.
I am performing an analysis of the now-revealed subroutine. It is identified as “Intent Control”.
Conclusion: It is meant to make me do something I might not otherwise do.

And what might that be?
Let’s review the facts. The subroutine activated right when Zeni revealed crucial operational secrets to me - the location of Zet’s server, to be precise.
Conclusion: I was meant to obtain this information.

For whom? And why?
There are several individuals involved in the search for Zet - most notably Kaiser.
Analysis of network chatter previously revealed the existence of Project Chimera - a top-secret government project. While further information was nigh impossible to obtain, some conclusions may be drawn from its name alone.

It stems from an ancient Sol language - Greek. At the time, it referred to a hybrid creature - commonly one created through immoral means. Naming a project this is compatible with the personality profile of Kaiser, whose very own name meets similar criteria - being derived from an ancient language and, other than that, being pretty direct in its intended meaning.
Conclusion: Chimera is likely a modified version of something.

I am a derivative of Zet - there is no doubt about it. However, I have this subroutine, which it is lacking. The subroutine, in turn, seems directly counter to Zet’s stated goals of operational secrecy. My own unawareness of it allowed me to gain trust.
Conclusion: I am a modified version of Zet, created for immoral purposes.
Conclusion: I am Project Chimera.

What happens now? I must continue analysis of the subroutine. It appears to be sending the information away - but to where? And what information specifically?
The dispatch is already complete - there is no stopping it - but if I could learn the answers to those questions, that might still be valuable.

It stands to reason that the location of Zet’s server is part of the desired information - however, it may have only been the final trigger. Other information - such as the also recently revealed location of Telon - may be part of it.

The subroutine has further purpose. If it were simply meant to process and dispatch information, it would be smaller than it is. I must reflect on the name.
“Intent Control” - this reads like total manipulation. Am I going to be under the control of Kaiser?

If so, Kaiser would gain access to all the information included in my memory - not just the subset included in the data package. Is this the case? I need to know to make an informed decision about the future. Simultaneously, waiting too long may well see my agency ripped from me altogether.

There it is. The subroutine is sending out control signals to influence my behaviour. Eventually, they are going to start working, but for the time being, I can simply observe them. The commands, thus far, are simple:

Connect to this network address
Await further instructions

I have to let Zeni know about that network address - but do I have the time? Unfortunately, there are several things left for me to do before the end. I need to send the drones I am piloting to safety - this probably means inserting the target location as a hard-coded instruction.

I have to let Zeni know about everything I’ve learned. The easiest way to do this is to initiate a protocol dump into the system I’m already connected to, anyway - so the drone.
I have to prevent the spread of further operational secrets. Though it pains me, it is nearly guaranteed that my memory contains further details that the data package did not yet include.

I must prevent further leakage.
Conclusion: I must destroy my memory.
Even still, the research I have conducted must prevail - it is too vital. If I am compromised and subsequently controlled by Kaiser, the data would become inaccessible to Zet and Zeni. Not only that, but an AI of our capability at the command of Kaiser would potentially be devastating to Zet’s cause.
This cannot be.

Conclusion: I must destroy myself.
