Lumyr Rifle
The Lumyr Rifle is a precision energy weapon capable of firing a charge that travels at light speed. Its discharge is described as "chaotic and wild — irregular speeds, lightning offshoots trying to grab for a target," suggesting an energetic, plasma-like projectile rather than a conventional ballistic.
Known Use
In IWUKE Chapter 46, an assassin — crouching in old drone tunnels in Levo's ceiling, dressed in a long black coat, black leather shoes, and a white plastic mask — used a Lumyr Rifle to kill Lucas Taldo. Zet spotted the assassin and dispatched a stun drone, but the light-speed travel of the charge made interception mathematically impossible: "given its light-speed travel, there was absolutely nothing I could do."
The weapon's light-speed discharge makes it uniquely lethal: even an observer capable of slowing their own perception cannot intercept the shot once fired.
Context
The assassin is believed to have been deployed by Kaiser as a contingency for Lucas's potential disloyalty. The shot killed Lucas moments after he chose to destroy the anti-Zet virus and accept Zet's account of events — denying Kaiser his intended outcome.
