Government District

Type district
Located in Lukyr Prime

The Government District is the administrative centre of Lukyr Prime, housing the Emperor's palace, major government agencies, and the offices of senior officials. It sits beneath a dense drone-traffic network and contains an underground high-speed rail network used by both civilians and government personnel.

Key Locations

Imperial Palace and Palace Avenue
The Emperor's seat of power. Palace Avenue is a several-kilometre approach road lined with identical trees and a water feature with statues of past rulers — each ruler extending the avenue and placing their own statue closest to the palace, moving predecessors further back. The palace itself features massive steel doors (dozens of metres across, nearly a metre thick) with Solyr decoration and large Solyr-patterned pillars in its interior. A secret Alumyr defensive shield surrounds the palace, known only to the king and the Lord Commander; the shield deflects energy weapons but is vulnerable to physical attacks.

Records Agency
Located in the government district; described as an "ugly white concrete box" — notably unaesthetic compared to surrounding buildings. Destroyed by explosion on 8044-09-20, killing 455+ people. The destruction was ordered by Kaiser.

Senior Officials' Offices
Several high-ranking officials maintain offices here with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the district. The Eldon Wynter occupies one such office, from which he oversees covert operations while managing his collection of precision artifacts.

Underground Infrastructure

Multiple parallel high-speed rail tracks run beneath the district in underground tunnels. During the civil war, trains continued operating despite the active combat above ground, trapping civilians on damaged carriages in tunnel junctions. Zet conducted rescue operations using drones to evacuate stranded passengers.

Civil War (Chapter 38–39)

During the war between the Great Houses and the Royal Brigade, the Government District became the primary battlefield:

Prior to the war, the district was under heightened security following the Records Agency explosion, with the entire area and Palace Avenue emptied due to heightened alert (Ch17).
