| Dr. Acy Trepa is a physician at ReStar hospital who treated Vanessa Canly for OPECS radiation burns. Her involvement is defined by the collision of her medical ethics with the demands of a government official who ordered unlawful treatment — a conflict she ultimately resolves by defying the order at personal risk. |
Physical Appearance
No physical description established.
Personality
Trepa is competent and ethically aware but operates under institutional constraints that leave her with little formal standing to refuse powerful officials. She recognises the Endocrine Control imposed on Vanessa is wrong — she describes it privately as "this hell we're putting her into" — yet initially complies, demonstrating that the pressure from above is severe enough to override her judgment in the moment. When she believes she has sufficient grounds, she acts decisively: she ends the treatment without official sanction and arranges proper psychological care. She does not minimise her role to Vanessa, acknowledging the coercion and apologising directly, though Vanessa's cold response makes clear that the apology does not undo the harm.
Background
Background not yet established beyond her position at ReStar hospital.
Relationships
- Vanessa Canly — Patient under Trepa's care. Trepa administered both legitimate Pharmaweave radiation burn therapy and the coerced Endocrine Control. After ending the illegal treatment, she assigned a psychological support team and offered Vanessa agency over the timing of withdrawal. Vanessa responded with deliberate curtness to register that the harm had been real and unacceptable.
- Eldon Wynter (operating under the alias "Ingo Fringe") — The government official who ordered Endocrine Control and threatened Trepa's life to enforce compliance. Trepa attempted at least once to argue for alternative treatments; he dismissed her concerns. Contact between the two was later confirmed via call log records recovered by Pietro.
- Zeni — Zeni arrived at ReStar posing as a Health Agency representative and challenged the legality of the treatment. Trepa initially deflected, but Zeni's continued pressure — and the overheard phone call with the official — contributed to Trepa's decision to reverse course.
Story Arc
Trepa's involvement spans Chapters 22–23. When Zeni arrives at ReStar, Trepa dismisses the challenge to Endocrine Control, citing the authority of her government superior. Zeni follows Trepa and overhears a call in which Trepa argues for alternative treatments and is refused with threats to her life. Shaken, Trepa reverses her position: she escorts Zeni directly to Vanessa's room, announces that Endocrine Control will end, and arranges psychological care for Vanessa. In Chapter 23, Pietro recovers call logs from a hospital conference room tablet on Zet's behalf, confirming that Trepa's contact was filed under the alias "Ingo Fringe" — a pseudonym of Eldon Wynter.
Death
INI-3's File 993 reveals that Trepa was OPERATIVE ALPACA in Operation CASCADIA — placed at ReStar to monitor Vanessa Canly (SUBJECT VIPER). Her defiance of protocol cost her her life. When Vanessa was seized on September 24th, 8044, and her transport vessel was subsequently captured by Zet, Kaiser issued a termination order for ALPACA at 07:30. Trepa was killed at 07:39.
Open Questions
- What is the full extent of her knowledge about the official she was serving?
- Was she a willing operative for Kaiser before her conscience overcame her, or was she coerced into the CASCADIA role as she was into the Endocrine Control?
